Vladimir Putin has scheduled for March 23 - a symbolic date: the day before the twelfth anniversary of the start of NATO against the heart of the Balkans - a visit to Belgrade.
Putin's visit will help resolve the suspicion that the Russian Serbian government, and filoatlantico unstable, can not enforce contracts signed with Moscow. This is especially the contract for the South Stream pipeline, whose construction should begin in Serbia in 2012. An agreement, as South Stream, signed in Sochi May 15, 2009, in the presence of Vladimir Putin and Silvio Berlusconi, among the gas companies of Russia, Italy, Bulgaria, Serbia and Greece.
It is known that the U.S. seek to block the creation of the South Stream is the new "southern branch" of the major euro-Russian energy grid. In theory Nabucco without promote their sources of supply, however, because Russia has already signed two years ago for long-term contracts to purchase and transport gas with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The strategic position of Serbia is central in the Balkans. No coincidence that the most important lines of communication between West and East through Serbia since ancient "Via militaris" who controlled the Danube. The Russian presence in Serbia upsets the plans of Atlantic economic occupation, military and political crossroads of Belgrade, already faded after the failure to sign, at the time, the Rambouillet Agreement. An agreement that the Serbs would not sign right then and now the Americans are trying to get the currently weak but coerced compliant pro-American government.
